Common Questions
What can I expect in our first session?
The first session will give you an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy. We can talk about what changes you might be hoping for, and consider any goals for our work together.
We will also complete our therapeutic contract together, which covers how I work, what to expect, and boundaries. This is an opportunity to share any concerns or worries you might have, as well as ask any questions.
How long does therapy typically last?
I offer open-ended therapy; this means there is no limit to the number of sessions we can have together.
The duration varies as it is tailored to your unique journey. Some find short-term sessions helpful for specific issues, while others benefit from long-term exploration.
Is our conversation confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of therapy. I provide a safe and private space where you can speak freely and openly. Anything shared in our sessions will remain confidential between us; however, there are some important limits to confidentiality to be aware of. This includes ethical and legal limitations. If I felt there was a risk of harm to either yourself or someone else, then confidentiality may be broken.
